Well the honeymoon is coming to an end. It's been 9 months since I retired and I must admit after going through the 1st few weeks of withdrawal it has been smooth sailing. I guess this will be my last 100K+ year but with the great pension and SSI I'll be close. I still get calls from the team and recently I've hooked up with some of my fellow co-workers from the 80's. We meet for lunch and discussions once a month and talk about hobbies and volunteer work in the community. I had also found a few other chat sites where other retired IBM'ers talk about their great times and careers in IBM. This is more of the positive direction that I have in my life so I'll make most of you happy by my spending little time on this retiree chat room. That should raise a smile in some of you. I also continue to get calls to come back part time and even a possible assignment in India . Haven't quite decided yet if I want to go back but if it's on my terms I'll think about it. I've also had offers from some of the industry executives that I had worked with in the past. Lots of opportunity out there for us old guys. So I'll leave you guys to wallow in your hate and I'll go live the good life. Who knows maybe I'll take some college courses. Gotta go now , The salt on the roads precludes me from taking the Ferrari to the gym. I'll have to take the Jag instead. I wish all of you a Happy New Year and hope you find time to enjoy your family and life. Thank you IBM.

When I was with IBM, I was leading our National Sales Team with closed revenue and many more $'s Millions in my pipeline.
Well; I was was in my early 60's and IBM dumped me with no notice along with many other older IBM employees by the 1000's.
Life is not fair when IBM decides to dump all of their older workers! Oh Well??
BTW; CEO Palmisano authorized the firing of 10's of 1000's of IBMers simply because we were OLDER!
P.S. A young IBMer of age 24 got ALL of my closed deals & the $'s Commissions within 3 weeks of my departure.
